Hi, I'm Jasmine Nicole. Welcome to the Motivational Mystic, a space for authentic higher conscious conversations to motivate, inspire, and empower. Thanks for listening. Each week I'll drop a new conscious raising episode. Let's dive in. Hello Mystics. I'm recording on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. The nights are starting to get colder in the part of the US I'm located in, and I am happy about that because it has been a hot and humid summer. The first day of fall is coming up at the end of the month, and that is also my birthday as well, so I'm looking forward to it. Change is in the air. The leaves and the trees are slowly starting to change colors, and fall is fire pit season. Being outside, enjoying the fall foliage, and sitting in front of a nice fire is peaceful. I think it's important that we all prioritize scheduling peaceful moments or activities during our day or each week. To nurture ourselves, mind, body, and soul, and be present. Soak in those moments of peace, which correlates to what I want to discuss for today's episode. I know sometimes we all have periods in our life where we question if you are enough, if you're doing enough, if you're learning enough, if you just feel like you are good enough. And I think it's pretty normal to feel that way. I believe everyone has experienced that. Everyone has had periods of self-doubt and feelings of insecurity, but I think during those moments, it's important to give yourself a pep talk, to give yourself some inspiration. So that you know that everything you're going through, it's for a reason. And you may have periods of self-doubt and insecurity creep in, but it's all a part of your life journey. You will have little lessons, little hurdles, or speed bumps you encounter along the way. And I think during those times it's really good to practice affirmations. Whether it's as simple as I am enough, or I have the resources and I have the capability to do any and everything I set out to do. Whatever those affirmations look like for you, you can craft them to fit your specific situation. But the importance is in repeating those mantras, repeating those affirmations, you will get to a point of not just saying those positive words to yourself, but believing and embodying it. So I think incorporating affirmations into those pep talks you give yourself for reassurance is a great idea. Because the best motivation is self-motivation, to be honest. Your self-esteem, your emotional state, your mental state should not be predicated on external validation, because that is a recipe for disaster. People are fickle. They may praise you one day and then experience a bad time in their own personal lives and tear you down the next day. So you have to be the one to keep your own light lit. Be your own cheerleader in whatever way that best works for you. I think affirmations is one method and good way to start. When you get into those periods of self-doubt, having self-limiting beliefs, or just not feeling like you're enough. I think that is a perfect time and a catalyst giving you indication that you need to love on yourself a little bit. Self-care is needed, and we all go through that. No one is immune or absolved from feeling insecure, having periods of self-doubt, or just feeling like you're not doing enough, or you are enough. So when you are in that period of your life, or maybe you're in that period now, just remember you are enough. You were made to be perfectly imperfect. We all are. And learning how to love those imperfections within us all is a journey within itself. Because we all know no one's perfect in this world. But coming to terms with that and loving those imperfections is a whole nother story. And I think that's also a sign of needing to make yourself a priority. Self-love and self-care are important, and prioritizing yourself is equally as important. A depleted battery can't power up or charge many things. You have to take time to recharge and pour into yourself first. You have to be grounded within yourself. So when you're going through hard times, periods of self-doubt, or feeling that you're not good enough. Personally, I feel that is an energy of feeling depleted, and you cannot give what you do not have. So look at it as an invitation to alchemize that energy and change the narrative by not giving into feeling depleted or even defeated. Look at it as an indication that it is time to self-prioritize and recognize that regardless of people who may expect things from you, you cannot do anything for anyone to the point of self-depletion. A cup with a hole at the bottom of it will not be efficient in trying to fill another cup. So just recognizing that is important. Just really, really getting in tune with what it is that you need to recharge your battery. Because you are enough. Regardless of whatever scenario you find yourself in, that makes you feel like you're not. Maybe you didn't get a job you applied or interviewed for. Maybe you didn't get the guy or girl you were interested in. Maybe you're dealing with a breakup. There is a plethora of scenarios that we can find ourselves in that can have us start to question, am I enough? And you are. Once you start even questioning or feeling that way, that's when you really have to step back from the situation that is making you feel that way. Detach, unplug, and look at it from an outsider's perspective. That is the best time to pour into yourself. Indulge in self-care. Give yourself some love. And if it's one of those scenarios where you can come back to it or come back stronger from it, do so. Indulging in self-care, taking that time to love on yourself, to pamper yourself, to nourish yourself is essential in being able to bounce back a renewed, recharged, and better version of yourself. That will help to release you from that mental or emotional state that has you even questioning if you are enough. Of course you are. And I don't remember if I mentioned this on this podcast before, but it's really liberating to get to a point in life that despite whatever circumstances or obstacles come your way, you can view it in one of two ways. You can see things as either a lesson or a blessing. Sometimes you will only be able to determine the scenario in hindsight. So I know when I have gotten into that mental or emotional state of questioning, am I enough? Indulging in self-care and prioritizing self-love gave me the ability to take a step back from whatever particular scenario was causing me to feel that way. And either come back to it or have a greater understanding of how I got into that state of mind to really be able to put it into one of those two scenarios. Was this a lesson or a blessing? What did I learn from this situation that maybe I don't want to repeat? Or did this situation protect me from something I didn't see at the time because I was in the thick of it, I was too close to it? Essentially being a blessing in disguise. So yeah, really not going down that dark rabbit hole that sometimes you can find yourself walking the line of going down when you start to question if you are enough. So putting scenarios in a category of lesson or blessing classification, it can save you from that. You don't want to spiral, no one wants to spiral, but you also have to take accountability for how you got yourself in that situation that you're even questioning if you are enough. Maybe you were doing too much, my friend, giving more of yourself to something or someone than you should have, possibly. Or it may not be from any doing of your own, honestly. But how you react or respond to the particular scenario you find yourself in, that is in your control. And that is where the accountability needs to take place. You're going to feel your feels, you're going to feel your emotions, but don't let them overtake you. Don't let it overrun you. You have to get to a place of sovereignty. Feeling so whole within yourself without the need for any external stimuli, whether that's in the form of validation, attention, or even love. If you're dealing with a breakup or some type of relationship dynamic, you have to be so whole within yourself that when you deal with situations that have you questioning, are you enough? That is an indication that you need to always tap back in to yourself. Always come back to your center, always come back to your core. Always come back into balance within yourself. And the answer to that question, are you enough? Should always be heck yeah I am. Of course I am enough. We were all born and divinely made to be enough. It's just accepting and loving all those imperfections. And if you feel the need or if you can improve on those imperfections, of course, do it. But the recognition of it and the acceptance of it is the first step in doing that. Self-improvement isn't a bad thing if it's being done for the right reasons. You don't want to change yourself because it will make someone else happy, or someone else is telling you you need to change something about yourself for them. You don't need to change anything about yourself that you don't want to. You are in control of your life journey. You make decisions, you make choices based off of what is best going to serve you. You don't want to get to a point of asking if you're enough and then trying to live up to someone else's expectations thinking that is going to make you feel like you are enough, make you feel better. Becoming whole, becoming so sovereign in yourself that regardless of what situation or scenario you find yourself in, you never get to the point where you start to beat yourself up, right? Because like I said before, we are all made perfectly and perfect. And it's normal to have insecurities and self-doubt rise to the surface. Use it as a catalyst of okay, I need to go within, really make sure that I'm taking care of myself, indulging in self-care, indulging in self-love, so then you can step out of that period of self-doubt or insecurity or self-limiting beliefs, a better person, a stronger person. But the key is you have to do that for yourself. You can't do it for anyone else. And you know, once you do come out of the other side of those periods of self-doubt, insecurity, or self-limiting beliefs, the people who are around should love you for who you are. And if they don't, I mean, it's probably an indication that you may not need to spend time around them if you can help it, or or you might want to spend limited time around them if they're people that you are forced to be around. Like we want to be around positive people that speak life into us and don't tear us down or make us feel like we're not enough. You are, and you have to believe that first, and you don't have to convince anyone other than yourself that you are. That's probably an indication that that person or group of people are not really good for you to be around, and you have to really be selective of who you allow to have access to you. I believe it was Maya Angelou that said, When people show you who they are, believe them. So if you feel you need to change for people in order to accept yourself, they're showing you who they are, and those aren't people you need to be around. And that goes back to sovereignty. When you're so whole within yourself, it doesn't matter the external opinions of others. You know who you are, you walk in purpose, you're guided by faith, and you don't need anyone's acceptance or approval to make you feel that you're good enough. You are perfectly imperfect the way you are, as we all are. And just coming to acceptance of that is a very liberating thing. Well, that's all I had for today, everyone. Until next time, goodbye.
